  I brought my 3yr old daughter in for a 6 month cleaning. Sitting in the waiting room, I realized how disgustingly dirty everything was. I should have turned back then. We were called back and the hygienist who cleaned my daughter's teeth did not have much patience for her at all. She was actually pretty rude and in such a rush. Once the cleaning was over she said the dentist would be right in. 20 minutes later, I walked out to the front desk to ask if this is how slow it always is when they have no one else there. They apologized and got the dentist right away. The dentist finished the appointment and asked the hygienist to put fluoride on her teeth. After she looked in all the cabinets she said she was sorry but they ran out of fluoride and they'll be sure she gets it the next time she's in. Well there won't be a next time. This dentist office was a total joke.

  Felt like my family and I were just dollar signs because we had dental insurance. We all went for cleanings and came out with pages of scheduled procedures with dates for further work and how it was covered by our insurance. Was even told to do some more after first of the year when benefits would restart calendar year. My husband went in for yearly cleaning which was free with our plan and they did extra services while he was in the chair without asking him first that weren't covered by insurance, then told me I had to pay for it before being seen again. While I was in the chair on 3 different appointments, Dr. Pelak saw other patients at the same time, rushing her time with me and switching back and forth between myself and others! Very poor focus on the patient. She was irritated that I didn't want to rush through having a tooth pulled. Also she splits her time between yorkville and palatine so scheduling is pretty difficult for a busy person. Most of the times I picked she was available in palatine....too far for people who live in plano. Just felt like it wasn't about helping others their practice was strictly about how much money they could bring in and how fast. Also they have called me several times saying it's time to schedule cleanings for my family and each time I have told them I don't want to and won't be coming back and they still keep trying.
